Vastu Shastra for Plots or Sites:

Vastu for plotVastu Shastra for Plots/Sites says the location, Direction, shape, soil quality and slope of the plot guides us to an ideal plot or site. So while selecting a Plot/Site following major points are to be kept in mind.

Vastu Shastra for Plots Location: The site should be Peaceful, calm place?with lot of greenery and good water source with good soil. It is best to buy land where happy and successful people have lived which will give you a positive feeling about the place. ?Plot with pathways on all four sides is considered the best. It ensures health, wealth, prosperity and happiness. The reasons for the logic are because a Plot with roads on all four sides is not abutting any body?s property and hence one can derive maximum lighting and ventilation from all four sides.

Plot with roads on the North or East is the next best option.?This is because more light and air can enter from these sides in the mornings. The source of water in the North, East or North-East is considered good.

Vastu Shastra for Plots Direction: Site Orientation means the location or Vastu directionsposition of the plot with respect to the Cardinal directions. The plots orientation is identified by the direction that the front of the plot faces.

As per Vastu all directions are considered good and each has its own advantages. East facing Plot is good for scholars, philosophers, priests, professors, teachers etc. North facing plot is good for those in power, administration and those who work for government. South facing plot is good for business class and for those who work in business organizations at management level. West facing plot?is more suitable for those who provide supporting services to the society.

Vastu Shastra for Plots Shape

As per Vastu, a square or a rectangular plot is considered the most suitable. A plot with equal length and width is considered as an ideal site for construction or a rectangular plot having the length and width in 1:2 ration are considered good. If the length faces north and width faces west, it would be considered more suitable. A plot that is narrow in the front and wide at the back is called Gou Mukhi. Such plot is considered auspicious for residential purpose. A plot that is wide in the front or entrance and narrow at the back is known as Simha Mukhi plot. Such plots are considered suitable for commercial purpose. The plots with extension in the North or East or North-East are considered good.

Vastu Shastra for Plots Soil: To construct a building it is ideal to buy a piece of land that is most suitable for cultivation i.e., where the vegetation can grow. Generally the soil which is good for cultivation like red, brick red, brown, yellow soil etc is also good for the foundation of a building.

It is advised to avoid a site with black and clayey soil. The Reason being, the black soil indicates soil that retains water and doesn?t allow good drainage. Also avoid rocky piece of land for construction purpose.?Land with too many rocks and thorny trees are not considered good. A land with lot of worms should be avoided. This may be an indication that the soil is very loose and will not support the foundation well.

Vastu Shastra for Plots Slope: The North-East half of the plot is called the Solar half and the South-West half is called the Lunar half. Ideally the Solar half (Sun) should be lower than the Lunar half (moon?s surface). So the North-East corner should be the lowest and the South-West corner should be the highest. This ensures the ideal flow of light and solar energy from the North-East corner (morning light) into the house. Try to avoid plots with a depressed or raised centre and the road level should be lower than the Site.
